John Bradshaw
To explain the background to my books, I would like to tell you a little about my own background, both professional and personal.
My professional background is in Management and Human Resource Management. I hold qualifications in both these fields and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. I have worked quite a lot in these areas and I have a particular interest in industrial psychology and especially in areas such as self-development, motivation, leadership and emotional intelligence therefore my books are to some degree an expression of my professional interest in these fields, however I also have a very strong personal interest in the area of self-development and to explain, it is necessary to say that some time ago, I was given the gift of a severe personal crisis.
The crisis that I experienced happened about twelve years ago, in 1991. In fact it began in 1989 and reached its climax in 1991. It tore me apart and stripped away every assumption that I ever had. I was left broken, confused, dejected, angry, alone and very frightened and it is very important to say that it marked the true beginning of my spiritual journey, although I had always been somewhat inclined in that direction. At times of great difficulty, one seeks help and I did so, on many levels. I explored quite a number of areas and disciplines including therapy, yoga, meditation, prayer, complementary healing, self-help groups and a number of other philosophies and ideas. I met many wonderful people and two men especially were of great help and inspiration to me. They are Martin MacDonagh and Paddy McMahon (Patrick Francis). Martin especially was there for me day and night for weeks, months and years and I could never thank him enough for his good counsel. Paddy inspired me tremendously with his psychic readings and his books ‘The Grand Design 1 to V’.
I realise now that I was blessed in many ways. I feel that I was being looked after by a power far greater than myself. I had surrendered the ego or more accurately, it had been taken from me and my heart became open to God, a God that I experienced as loving and compassionate.
In 1993 I met my wife, Keeva. We settled down and had three children Bob, Amy and Harry in addition to Keeva’s daughter, Laura who also became part of the family. Family life with all its joys and challenges helped me on many levels and Keeva with her own powerful spirituality and knowledge has also been a great inspiration to me. I can add that the children have taught me a lot in their own unique way.
Time moved on. My difficult time faded into the past. I progressed in my career and settled into normal family life, but I suppose I had changed on a very fundamental level. I had been deeply touched by God’s love in my time of difficulty. I had seen spirit and my journey had taken me to the heart of the soul and the heart of the Divine. I had become sensitised on the level of the spirit and had begun to have mystical experiences and altered states of consciousness. A deep longing grew in my heart to express and share what I had seen and felt and what I knew to be spiritual truth. I often reflected on the matter and felt that perhaps one day, I would write. I felt perhaps that this would happen in my sixties, on my retirement from the workplace .
Then, matters accelerated dramatically in August 2002, a short while after my fortieth birthday. I was having a minor health problem and went to see a wonderful lady named Noreen Callinan. She did some hands on healing for me over a number of weeks and almost immediately after this process finished, I began to have visions of four small books and I began to write prolifically. The books emerged as ‘The Twelve Thoughts Series’. These small books contain many of the insights that the last twelve years have brought to me. Importantly, they are an expression of the spirituality and the recovery that I have experienced in my own life and I would very much like them to be of benefit to others in this regard. The books contain forty-eight passages on self-development, development of consciousness and union with the Divine. Some of the passages in my books are mystical and esoteric in nature and I want to say without reservation that they contain what I believe to be channelled information i.e. information directed through me from the realms of spirit. I write these passages in an altered state of consciousness and am very conscious of a loving energy, far greater than myself, operating through me. These small books are my gift to you; the reader and also they are my prayer for the world. They are my prayer for a greater consciousness and a more compassionate world.
Love and best wishes John June 2003

Born: 3 November, 1954 in Swainsboro , Georgia (USA)
Grew up in Twin City, Georgia. A small town with small town values and very Democratic. In November of 1972, I registered to vote and entered the voting booth for the Presidential election. Looking at the enormous voting machine with all the toggle switches, I stepped out and asked for assistance. The Mayor of Twin City’s son stepped into the booth, reached over and flipped the Straight Democratic ticket lever, pulled the vote lever and stated, “You’ve voted. That’s all there is to it.” I protested and was asked to leave City Hall. I have been a staunch Republican since.
I enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18, made it to the rank of Sergeant First Class. My assignments included working intelligence in the S2 section of a nuclear capable Howitzer unit in the 3rd Infantry Division in Europe, Field Artillery Survey Chief, Field Artillery Survey Instructor in the Target Acquisition Department at the Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Selected to be the Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Lockheed Remotely Piloted Vehicle System. Fielded the first platoon of RPV’s at Fort Hood , Texas and went on to become the NCOIC of Organizational Maintenance for the Remotely Piloted Vehicle system.
Left the Army in 1987 and started a construction company in the Charleston , South Carolina area.

Sensei J. Richard Kirkham B.Sc.
Rick, to his friends, graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a dual teacher certification. Physical Education and Physical Education for Special Education.
He's been in martial arts now a little over 30 years The term Sensei meaning instructor in Japanese. He's been trained in several kung-fu and karate styles and did a little boxing. The styles include but are not inclusive to;
Sho Ba Kan Kempo karate
Kongo Do karate
Mika Do
Cobra Kai kung-fu
some Aki Jujitsu
a little Aikido
and some other miscellaneous arts,
Bump and Bruise don't do that again Do
Rick spent a little time when he was younger fighting full contact but nothing official. The style he now teaches is the Universal System of Self-Defence.
Rick's degree is in physical education with a background in Movement Education, Exercise Phys, Kinese, Alternative Teaching Methods, Behaviour Modification with an emphasis on Positive Reinforcement Methodology (see Raising Your Child to be More Positive and More Confident ).
He spent four years self-employed full time as an in home tutor specializing in students with behavioural problems primarily ADD and ADHD and an in home self-defence instructor (see Bringing The Martial Artist Out from Within).
Rick spends most of his evenings now, when he's not giving private self-defence lessons or tutoring, with his wife Jan and his five year old son Hunter in Honolulu HI.
“I can always use room for improvement, but I'm a much better father now for writing Raising Your Child to be More Positive and More Confident . Thinking and putting together the tutoring techniques and behavioural modification techniques I still use on and with my son and even with my wife, hopefully making me a better husband, as well”
I accidentally met my wife on the internet. I had some on line businesses back in Illinois. After marketing and promoting my businesses I'd be a little too tense to go directly to bed, so I'd relax in Yahoo chat. I knew my wife in there for about two years before flying over to visit her – I stayed.
My wife wasn't the first lady I dated. I've been trained in sales and have been in a sales related health field over 15 years now. When I agreed to help a friend just starting a dating service I was surprised to find out that most guys did not really know how to “sell” themselves to a date and then keep that special lady by not acting like a caveman. I know I know most guys would simply say if they don't like me for who I am then to heck with 'em.
How are they ever going to get to know you if you turn them off the first date so that potential special someone doesn't even get a chance to know you?
Thus I wrote
Getting to and Through Dates to Meet And Impress That Special Someone A Male's Guide to asking that special someone out and keeping her. But a Good guide For Ladies Too by J. Richard Kirkham B.Sc. Behavioural Modification and Sales Expert.
I'm quite happy with my family and continue to use techniques in my ebook to let my wife know how much I love her and appreciate everything she does.
As my son grew and my family's time needs became greater it became harder and harder to find time to workout. I'm 45 years old as I write this. When he want s to play I want to make sure I have the energy to say yes and not have to look at his face when I say I'm too tired or I'm too busy.
I knew not many people had my background in physical education, and alternative teaching methods, so I began putting in writing all the Exercise's I would do throughout the day to keep my energy level up, lose weight, and stay fit (no they're not all the same thing)
Thus Sprouted
Exercise Kwik Tips for Those with NO Time to Exercise
Hey I'll be the first to tell you I still have some weight to lose, but the energy levels are where I need them to be to play with my son and enjoy his laughter.
I'd like to take this opportunity thank all of you, my readers, for your support and I promise to do my best to fulfil any needs or wishes that you may have as well.
Aloha
Rick”

Melanie Solomon
Melanie Solomon is the author of the newly released book, AA-Not the Only Way-Your One Stop Resource Guide to 12-Step Alternatives. After a nine-year battle with addiction, including a vicious cycle of rehabs, sober livings, 12-step meetings, recovery, relapse, and overdosing, she is now living a normal, balanced, functioning life.
Ms. Solomon graduated from the University of Michigan, with a B.A. in psychology with honours. While making Phi Beta Kappa, she also volunteered at a Women's Centre, counselling and placing abused and/or chemically addicted women into safe facilities.
She had to drop out of UCLA Law School after completing one year to enter a well-known, conventional rehab, which is where she was first introduced to AA and the 12-steps. This began the 9 year odyssey of addiction & treatment that concluded with an experience that left her for nearly dead this past Mother's Day.
It was then that she realized that there had to be another way. Due to her unyielding research of alternatives to AA, and the other 12-step programs, she started uncovering the scientific research that had been going on for over 3 decades, which sadly, most Americans are largely unaware of. She now devotes her life to researching recovery options, and then sharing these findings with others. First through her book, and now through her website, www.aanottheonlyway.com, where there is a wealth of information about the many recovery options that are available, current research, recommended books, sites and other products, as well as a FREE discussion room, open to those in need themselves, loved ones, or professionals in the field, which will hopefully expand the dialog & knowledge about recovery options.
A full-time writer and lecturer, she regularly speaks at Huntington Beach School Districts Drug & Alcohol Program and The Learning Annex in California.
